Shrek NewsShrek's technical achievments and future spinoffsPosted on: latimes.comlatimes.com has an interesting article here about the cast and crew of "Shrek the Third" and their accomplishments.
Apparently "Shrek the Third" is going way beyond the first two installments, with 23 fairy tale characters this time around (including a single crowd shot consisting of 1,372 characters), 67 new sets, flashbacks and nightmare scenes, and more situational comedy than in the prior Shrek movies. Of course the pop culture references that have been a staple of the Shrek movies are still in tact.
The article also talks about future possible spin-offs. Of course Shrek 4 is already in planning, and a feature starring Puss in Boots is under consideration. However, Aron Warner, the producer of the Shrek franchise, hinted that the characters of Rapunzel, Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty may be perfect spinoff material.
It looks like the Shrek franchise will live on for a long, long time.
CommentsMy brother told me that Shrek 4 won't have Shrek or Donkey's original voices because Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy aren't getting paid enough...I was just wondering if that was true?- M&MAdd a Comment
